Tain Gala Association was formed in 1986 with a view to create and promote a good mix of sporting,
social and educational entertainment for all age groups for one week each year.
For the past eighteen years they endeavoured not only to run a successful Gala Week,
they also succeeded in filling the gap on the social calendar by introducing other events
throughout the year as and when appropriate.
The success of their activity in Tain can be measured by the support they receive
from local people resident in the 30 miles radius of the Ancient and Royal Burgh, as
well as hundreds of visitors, and ex patriots, who take their annual holidays to coincide with Tain Gala.
